GENERAL MANAGERS REPORT
February 2019
Now in my Fourth week here in Management I wish to give a current overview of tasks completed and tasks ahead.
Firstly I have concentrated on restructuring your previous Managers role to ensure mine is solely to concentrate on Management and raising money (re) Bar/ Catering/ Sponsorship & Membership.
To cover these duties I have negotiated a new contract agreement with your Professional Rob Nuttall which includes all Golfing duties.
I have now given Shaniah Magson a title of Reception & Membership Manager with a full duty statement to cover Membership, Golf and House Functions.
I have also now appointed a Bar, Function & House Manager in Damian Franzmann (Previously from Royal Fremantle Golf Club) to manager our Bar (Stock, pricings, P.O.S, Rostering and coordinating/ selling functions (outside) and members events.
I have approached Creative Catering who have agreed to run our kitchen at no cost to the club effective from 26th February 2019, on a three month trial basis.
Menus, pricings and operating hours to be set and agreed by myself and Bar, Function & House Manager.
Due to the number of finance questions raised at the AGM and Special meeting I have Karen Cotton (My long time accounts clerk) reviewing our Balance sheet items and accounting controls. She will have finished these duties by end of February and provided me with her overview of future finance controls to be implemented.
- Things such as Nick Kinley authorizing and approving invoices to be received and coding them to the correct General Ledger account.
- Things like all bar stock orders being married up to delivery/ invoices to verify receipt. All stock to be entered into the P.O.S and sales print out verifying stock movement.
- All stock items and quantity to be listed on the P.O.S system set against a set mark up percentage.
- Ensuring all banking from Daily Bar Sales Balance.
Things to be completed or reviewed in next month are
- Pennants (Teams/ Uniforms)
- Fixtures/ Competitions
- Summer Membership Package proposal
- Meeting Kalamunda Shire (Re. Driving Range)
- Website upgrade
- P.O.S Upgrade
- Stock sale (Specials)
- Kitchen Service – Caterer
- Function Planner
- Member incentives (Sign up a new member – target 100)
While I can appreciate the need in the past to cut expenditure I believe for us to grow we now NEED to concentrate on raising more income and providing members with more benefits other than golf alone.
To succeed I will need all the Management Committee, Staff & Members’ support.
I look forward to the challenge and must admit I am thoroughly enjoying being here.
